“Oh, if only the suffering soul knew how it is loved by God, it would die of joy and excess of happiness! Some day, we will know the value of suffering, but then we will no longer be able to suffer. The present moment is ours.” ~ St. Faustina
Divine Providence has placed all of us here at this particular time in history. Resolve to deepen your interior life in 2021! Each year the Parish Council of Catholic Women hosts a retreat for ALL women of the parish and surrounding area. We gather together to be spiritually uplifted and challenged to grow in our relationships with Our Lord and Our Lady through the Holy Spirit. It is also a tremendous opportunity for all of us to renew old acquaintances and welcome new friends. Fr. Bart Stevens will guide this year's retreat on the topic of 'suffering'.
THEME: SUFFERING: Called to Love in a Radical Way
We are poor, banished children of Eve, living in a valley of tears. Is there anything more common to human experience than suffering? At this retreat we will consider why God permits suffering in our lives and how we can use suffering for our good and the good of others. As Saint Vincent de Paul said, "“If we only knew the precious treasure hidden in infirmities, we would receive them with the same joy with which we receive the greatest benefits, and we would bear them without ever complaining or showing signs of weariness."
